The Philips Series 800 air purifier is the perfect combination of exquisite design and admirable quality. The gray model I tested not only looks fashionable, but it also blends seamlessly into any type of atmosphere. There are several other colors available in this line, however, white appears to be the most popular option among users.
Comprised of two components, this air purifier will filter your home with ease. The lower part holds the filter while the upper section proudly displays its fan and a touch control button for maximum user convenience.
Concerning the device controls, there is little to describe. Primarily, this model has a two-step process for initiation: flick on the switch at the back and manipulate it with the touch button situated on its top. Uncomplicated yet efficient!
The touch button in this device not only changes the operating mode but also serves as a filter reset indicator. With each press of the button, you can switch conveniently between sleep mode, auto mode, and turbo mode in a continuous sequence.
Size and Dimensions
The Philips Series 800 weighs a mere 5.3 lb (2,4 kg), and its small dimensions of 14.4 x 9.8 x 9.8 inches (36,7 x 25 x 25 cm) make it perfect to fit in any space-constrained area like an office desk or bedside table!
The Philips Series 800 is an uncomplicated air purifier with few additional features, comparable to the Blueair 411 Auto. These two models have similar characteristics in terms of options and thus can be considered minimalistic units.
Air Quality Sensor and Air Quality Indicator
The Philips Series 800 air purifier comes with an air quality sensor and air quality indicator. This sensor is capable of detecting levels of airborne pollutants, like dust, pollen, smoke, pet dander and other allergens, so that the device can adjust its performance accordingly. It also features a four-color LED indicator that alerts users to the current air quality level.
Our sensor is positioned on the rear of our device and has the power to detect PM2.5 particles instantaneously, working in harmony with other features like an air quality indicator and auto mode for maximum efficiency.
Filter System and Filter Replacement Indicator
The Philips Series 800 comes with a 3-stage filtration system that includes a pre-filter, Hepa filter, and activated carbon filter. The pre-filter removes the large particles from the air while the HEPA filter captures more than 99% of microscopic airborne pollutants.
Auto Mode guarantees perfect air quality in any environment. Through a combination of the air quality sensor and unit operation, Auto Mode self-adjusts to changing environmental conditions by automatically switching modes and fan speeds—ensuring that your living space remains clear from pollutants.
Room Coverage and CADR
I highly recommend the Philips 800 Series air purifier for any room up to 176 sq. ft., as it surpasses industry standards with its 4.8 times clean air turnover rate,190 m³/h of Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR), and surprisingly compact dimensions!
Philips Series 800 air purifier stands out from its competition due to its unique 3-stage filtration technology and innovative engineering. Its cylindrical design, hollow in the center, rivals other top-performing filters on the market. With Philips’ proprietary manufacturing processes, you can rest assured that your air is being filtered quickly and efficiently!
The Philips 800 air purifier’s pre-filter is a crucial filtration stage, as it traps large particles like dust, hair, and pet fur. This not only ensures that the HEPA filter lasts longer but also offers superior protection for your home or office space.
NanoProtect HEPA Filter
The subsequent step in purification is the NanoProtect HEPA filter, which snatches dust particles, pollen, and allergens from the air with maximum efficiency – thus drastically improving your surrounding atmosphere.
Activated Carbon Filter
With its innovative activated carbon filter, Philips delivers truly exceptional filtration. This pellet-based solution is trusted to neutralize any noxious particles from the air; making sure your kitchen and home have a lovely scent – all thanks to their reliable system! With these filters on board, you can rest easy knowing that smoke test results come out just as strong every time.
The Philips 800 Series air purifier offers three operational modes: sleep, auto, and turbo. I have personally experienced that in Sleep mode the sound level is incredibly quiet at only 41.8 dBA; making it ideal for bedrooms or any other room you’d like to remain undisturbed.
The Philips Series 800 efficiently generates a wide range of sound from 41.8 – 62.8 dBA and automatically transitions between four different speeds in auto mode, making it incredibly reliable and efficient!
Speed Value (dBA)
Sleep Mode 41.8 dBA
Auto Mode 41.8 – 62.8 dBA
Turbo Mode 62.8 dBA
I wholeheartedly suggest the Philips Series 800 air purifier for rooms up to 176 sq. ft., as it has the capacity to purify your space 4.8 times per hour, which is in line with The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) standard requirements.
194 sq. ft. Room Test
In a slightly larger room of 194 sq. ft, I conducted my first test by turning on the Philips 800 air purifier at maximum speed and letting it run for 60 minutes. Astonishingly, this action drastically improved the air quality by 93%, reducing the AQI from 122 to 9 in just one hour!
320 sq. ft. Room Test
During the second test, Philips was able to produce a profoundly successful result in a much greater room size than suggested. When tested in an area of 320 sq. ft., this air purifier improved the air quality by roughly 91% within one hour on its highest setting!
The Philips Series 800 is an energy saver, consuming less power than your common lightbulb! But what I found most impressive about this device was its 20W motor’s remarkable airflow.
This allows the appliance to be used in rooms bigger than originally recommended. It truly proves that efficiency doesn’t have to equate with weak performance!
Leaving this air purifier running in Turbo mode for an entire month would only increase your electricity bill by a meager USD 1.6, which is simply nothing compared to the multitude of benefits you will receive from using it!
Pros and Cons
The Philips Series 800 Air Purifier stands out for its exceptional reliability and high-end performance. It’s also extremely quiet in sleep mode, is easy to maintain at a low cost, and has an air quality sensor built into it – no more guesswork!
What’s great about my favorite model AC0830 is that it comes with the additional benefit of an activated carbon filter which helps eliminate odors along with achieving optimal purification results.
Whether you’re looking for something reliable or simply want to ensure your space remains healthy – this product truly delivers meaningfully on both fronts! Feel free to reach out if any further questions come up; I’m happy to answer them as soon as possible.
