To evaluate the efficacy of Levoit Core 300, I conducted a series of performance tests in varying room sizes. To ensure accuracy, all trials were carried out in real-world settings—not laboratories. In each test, the device was set to its highest speed (the third one).
194 sq. ft. Room Test
Despite this room being smaller than what is usually recommended (219 sq. ft.), the Core 300 air purifier stunned me with its impressive performance! Even though it has a powerful motor, I still wasn’t expecting such incredible results.
In a mere hour, the Air Quality Index (AQI) experienced an extensive plummet from 111 to 8 – representing an unbelievable 93% improvement. After another thirty minutes elapsed, AQI sank further still to 6!
320 sq. ft. Room Test
Even with an area that was more than double the size of what Core 300 recommends, this room’s sound quality didn’t suffer. In fact, it did an impressive job amplifying sound in its enormous proportions!
Believe it or not, the air quality improved by a whopping 92% within one hour of using this system! The AQI dropped from 145 to 12 after just sixty minutes – an incredible improvement that is hard to ignore.
Power consumption
The Levoit Core 300 is an Energy Star-certified product, meaning that it uses a remarkably small amount of energy for operation. Its power consumption does not exceed 45W!
The Core 300 runs at full speed for 24 hours every day, yet only costs 3.8$ monthly if the energy rate is 0.12$/kWh. Even when it’s on standby, Levoit states that its energy usage will remain below 0.8W; my own testing results suggest a mere 0.2W consumption!
Noise
In my opinion, the maximum noise level of 64.9 dBA may be a bit too loud for those who want to use it in their bedroom or any peaceful environment.
